WASHINGTON, D. C. BASED COMPANY A PERFECT FIT FOR JMAR’S PRODUCTS

San Diego, California – JMAR Technologies, Inc., today announced they have retained Catalyst Partners, a leading Homeland Security consulting firm based in Washington, D.C. JMAR’s portfolio of advanced military and commercial products, plus recent product awards and national press coverage, underscores the timeliness of the partnership with Catalyst Partners and the potential for transforming current operations with the Department of Homeland Security.

JMAR’s BioSentry® warning system is one of the products receiving award-winning exposure. “As terror plots continue to become more sophisticated, water treatment plants and the water supplies of high priority facilities across the country are increasingly at risk of being contaminated,” says Frost & Sullivan Research Analyst Lindsay Voss. “JMAR Technologies is one of the only companies in the U.S. to develop a system capable of continuously monitoring for dangerous microorganisms in treated water.”

Another JMAR product with recent exposure is their lightweight double pulse laser that allows personnel to determine the composition of suspected explosives from a safe distance. It received a 2008 Achievement Award under the U.S. Army’s Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. The system uses laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy to detect threats such as improvised explosive devices (IEDs) at distances of more than 100 feet. Two of the criteria for the award were “originality and innovation of research” and “overall quality performance of the project.”

“JMAR is expediting the development and deployment of products tailored for military and homeland security applications such as the prevention of bio-contamination threats and the detection of explosive materials,” stated JMAR’s Chief Executive Officer, C. Neil Beer, Ph.D. “We’re confident that Catalyst Partners has the credentials, technical depth and government experience to understand urgent national needs and expedite the acquisition process for JMAR’s laser-based detection products.” Catalyst Partners will assist JMAR with informing members of Congress, seeking appropriations, and obtaining SAFETY Act certifications.
