The world has faced tragic events of late: the Japanese earthquake and tsunami; the tragic bombing and shooting in Oslo, Norway; and post-Hurricane Irene floods along the U.S. East Coast. With these and other ever-present threats to our critical infrastructures and way of life, the National Defense Industrial Association’s (NDIA) 2011 Homeland Security Symposium focuses on disasters.
This year’s program, “Disasters: Preparing, Surviving and Responding to Dynamic Threats,” brings together some of the best public and private sector leaders to provide insight and knowledge on dealing with disasters in all of their forms. Panelists include some of Security Debrief’s own: Chris Battle, David Olive and Erroll Southers. Keynote speakers include:
Admiral (Ret.) Thad Allen: Senior Fellow, Rand Corporation; former U.S. Coast Guard Commandant; former National Incident Commander, BP/Gulf Oil Spill.
Mr. Matt Bettenhausen: Vice President, AEG Worldwide; former Homeland Security Advisor and Director, State of California’s Emergency Management Agency (CalEMA).
The symposium will be held September 26-27, 2011 at the Sheraton National in Arlington, VA. The complete agenda and registration information can be found online. Further information is available by e-mailing Ms. Brant Murray. Please join us for this thought-provoking program.
