Catalyst Partners’ Vance Taylor was recently chosen to become a part of the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA) National Task Force on Public Awareness, a voluntary advisory board composed of individuals with neuromuscular diseases.  Taylor, who was diagnosed with limb girdle Muscular Dystrophy, has a long history of working with MDA, including speaking on the association’s behalf on Capitol Hill.  Additionally, Taylor attends camps that specialize in neuromuscular diseases to speak about the importance of family, college, work and independent living.

“We’re delighted and proud that Vance has agreed to assist MDA by bringing his knowledge and unique perspectives to the National Task Force,” said Gerald C. Weinberg, MDA president and CEO. “His experience as an effective advocate for people with disabilities, coupled with his long-standing dedication to MDA, will make him a valuable addition to this important MDA leadership group.”

Taylor has also received the Robert Ross Personal Achievement Award from the Muscular Dystrophy Association, highlighting his outstanding community service accomplishments.  In 2008, Taylor was the co-emcee of the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Association Labor Day Telethon’s regional broadcast.
